More than 1000 clinical articles written by doctors for doctors will feature as part of a new website, providing the pharmaceutical industry with new and innovative ways to reach Australian healthcare professionals online.
Part of a digital brand revamp by Australian Doctor Group (ADG), How to Treat (howtotreat.com.au) will pull together independent clinical content and education written by specialists and published by the group’s leading medical publications Australia Doctor and Medical Observer.
Unlike ADG’s news websites, howtotreat.com.au features disease-specific content allowing pharmaceutical marketers to engage with doctors by sponsoring therapeutic areas or publish sponsored clinical content.
“Across all of our titles, we publish a huge amount of high-quality online clinical content written by medical experts that often gets buried behind the daily news. The new How to Treat site brings all of that content and education to life in a very user friendly way, while offering our clients new and innovative ways to engage with doctors,” says ADG managing director Bryn McGeever.
The concept for the site is a digital solution for doctors and medical students who have made a tradition of cutting out and keeping “How to treat”, the popular editorial feature which appears in Australian Doctor’s weekly print edition.
“Our research about how doctors consume Australian Doctor’s content has for many years told us that How to Treat is our most popular section,” says Clifford Fram, editor-in-chief of Australian Doctor Group.
As well as the weekly How to Treat feature, the site will offer CPD-accredited modules, clinical quizzes and a directory of online clinical guidelines.
ADG’s stable of medical titles have also relaunched with new-look websites for Australian Doctor, Medical Observer and 6minutes, along with revamped e-newsletters for each title.
