ADG’s Readership Survey of Independent Australian Medical Publications (August 2026)
AusDoc is the most-engaged independent medical publisher among Australian GPs in 2026.
ADG’s 2026 readership survey asked Australian GPs about their engagement with four medical publishers across print, website and newsletter channels. In the survey, 72% of respondents had read Australian Doctor magazine within the last month or fortnight, 59% visited AusDoc’s website daily or weekly, and 62% read an AusDoc newsletter within the last day or week. The survey included 265 AHPRA-verified Australian GPs.
Background
For over 40-years, Australian GPs have ranked AusDoc as the clear leader in print, website and newsletter engagement.
The 2026 ADG readership survey was emailed to over 25,000 AHPRA-verified GPs nationally, asking them to report their engagement with the four leading independent medical publishers: AusDoc (including Australian Doctor), The Medical Republic, AJGP and Medicine Today; across print, website and email newsletter.

ADG’s 2026 Readership Survey: One Clear Result.
Australian GPs consistently choose Australian Doctor and AusDoc over every other independent medical publisher in the market, and by a wide margin.
Bryn McGeever, Managing Director of Australian Doctor Group, said: “Australian Doctor performed strongly in the former MPA readership studies and has continued to rank first in ADG’s own readership surveys.
If you’re planning how to reach Australian GPs, AusDoc isn’t one line item among several — it’s where the plan should start. No other independent publisher comes close on reach or engagement.”
